After sleeping late for a change, and a full afternoon breakfast -I've never been a breakfast person- I'm finally gettin close to the end of
Dexter Season 4
. Of course I used to never be a Television person either. This show just keeps getting better. The writing is awsome, the characters are awsome, and this season there's plenty of surprises, twist, and turns.

I just love crime shows, but this isn't like, the
CSI's
or
Law and Orders
. Those, for me, are about the thrill of how they put the pieces together, they finding out 'Who Dun'it', but this show is about so much more. A person with an uncontrolable urge to kill protects society with that urge. Having a family of his own now puts a new intersting twist on Dexter's modivation and understanding of his urge or his 'Dark Passenger' as he calls it. Throughout the series, theres been the underlying theme of how family , upbringing, and experiences as children can determine who we are as adults. Along with father issues from many of the caracters, this seems to be the backbone of season 4. I could be reading into this a bit much because of my own issues with dad, and my childhood experiences, but the theme
is there. No need to worry people, I may be a little odd at times, but I'm no serial killer; gory movies don't even do it for me.
John Lithgow is the guest star in this season, and as usual, he's great. Another plus of this DVD set is the bonus features. Episodes 1 and 2 of the long awaited season 3 of
Californication
- another show I'm hooked on.
