I sit here, a little happier; an old friend from the hood came by and spread some cheer. I've gotten into the whole creation of my own channel on youtube. My creative ability has always relied upon others creativity. That of great music! Yes this blog at this point is mainly about the other creativity that I experience of others. Bout the only actual drawing or painting I've done is that at work, so as much as people can annoy me, my only creative outlet has been at work or in the kitchen with food. Thank god, I've got work coming in.
But, musically, I've been obsessed, as any regular readers of this blog have noticed, with a band from Sweden called Opeth for about 6 months now. Through watchin some interviews with the mastermind of this band, Mikael Akerfeld, I've checked out some of his favorite music and one I'm really loving is the guy who produced their classic, breakthrough album, Blackwater Park, Steven Wilson. This lad started such projects as Porcupine Tree, Blackfield, and a few others. WOW! Now this guy creates some great ambient music to get your creative groove back up and running. After watchin some videos on youtube I've got some great imagery goin' on in my head for some art.
Not sure how many other artists are this way, but I think I'd sacrifice a few other senses NOT to have to loose the sense of hearing. If I couldn't hear music, I'd deffinitely have offed myself by now. Its one of the few things that gives me fire for life. It fuels my art. It fuels me to go out and get exercise. It fuels me to live. Yeah, I know, I sound like an addict!
